Hear from the ex London gangster who was a friend of the Krays, he's been shot, stabbed & even had his nose bitten off!
As well as being a hub for sport and music enthusiasts, Bunters is equally interested in broadening its scope for original and innovative entertainment. Our recent collaboration with Shantaram Events resulted in the pub hosting a fantastic evening with cult legend and bestselling author Howard Marks a.k.a Mr. Nice, for his critically acclaimed one man show.
Next in our An Audience with... series we shall be visited by the renowned former gangster Dave Courtney. Courtney made his name in London’s East End underworld, befriending the likes of the infamous Kray Twins, who were notorious for mixing with A-list celebrities such as Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland in the West End’s underground club scene. Once referred to in the press as ‘the most feared man in Briton’, Courtney was a key player in the criminal underworld.
With numerous appearances in film and six publications under his belt, that include Stop the Ride I Want to Get Off and Heros and Villains, Courtney’s life and work has made him iconic in the history of Briton’s gangster culture. He even claimed that Vinnie Jones used his life as inspiration for his portrayal of Big Chris in Guy Richie’s film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
Despite his incredible life, that includes being shot, stabbed and even having his nose bitten off, he lives to tell the tale in this superb event.
Join us on Sunday 1st April for an unforgettable evening with the man himself. Doors open at 7pm. Show starts at 8pm. Tickets £15.
